These are some of the error coins from Mr Jibble’s Mint Error Coin collection. This is a variety of recent finds that reveal the unique charm and details of rare error coins, mostly within the UK.

Two Shilling with massive strike through error
A 5p definitive coin broadstruck, slightly off centre
A 1961 predecimal penny with an amazing lamination error
Victorian Crown with lamination error
A £2 coin struck with a clipped outer blank. Notice that the grooved edge of the inner blank is exposed by this error. This groove is crucial for bonding the two pieces of metal together during the minting process.
A 2026 gold sovereign with a die crack error
A definitive 10p coin that has been struck on a triple-clipped blank and with a partial collar. Nice!
One of only 209 “1oz silver” 2026 Britannia bullion coins that was mistakenly struck on a cupronickel blank intended for a base metal £5 coin.
A lovely “cud” error on a definitive 10p coin. This is caused by a significant die break at the edge.
A broadstruck £2 coin. As the coin was not struck within the collar die, it has no edge milling, but does feature the edge lettering that was imparted to the outer blank during the rimming process,

This Egyptian bimetallic pound coin was originally struck off centre. It was consequently cancelled/defaced by the mint by striking it with a special cancellation die that irreparably distorts the coin.
Definitive 20p struck on a smaller planchet in error
A fragment of nickel-plated inner blank has been struck through into (and retained by) the outer of this 2025 pound coin.
A £2 coin struck with a foreign outer blank that was too thin and 1.5g lighter. This has resulted in the centre insert spreading out further during the striking process.
